Super nice host in Dubrovnick. Picked us up from bus station, dropped us off at the ferry port when we left, weclomed us with strawberries and gave us freshly caught fish.
The weather was super nice. I went kayaking for a morning and partnered with a korean cop!
We went Cavat for lunch as Dubrovnik is too touristy.
Took a night ferry (10pm) from Dubrovnik and arrived Bari, Italy at 8am.
After an hr and a half train ride, we arrived Matera.
This was the best meal we had for the whole trip. The restaurant is called Soul Kitchen. Including wine, it costed us only 40eur.
We hiked for 3 hours. It was too hot. So after lunch we stayed in the room to drink and he drew.
Best pizza we had. Only 4eur!
After two nights in matera, we headed to Alberobello. The best B&B we stayed. 100eur only! We had our own little terrace and kitchen.
The town is lovely and our stay ended perfectly with the sweet ladies, the owners, delivered us breakfast.
We then arrived Lecce, also called the little Florence. Our apartment was again spacious with good location.
Aperitivo in southern Italy is so good. 12 pcs of snacks plus a wine costed 6eur only!
We took a day trip from Lecce to Galipolli. Had lunch and visited a mill for olive oil.
Obsessed with cooking, he made a vegi pasta dish on our last night in Lecce. The next morning, we flew to Rome.
Fish Carpaccio is good in Italy. The next day, we headed to Florence for 2 days.
Loved the market in Florence. We had the famous beef bun there.
After doing some shopping in the outlet mall in Florence, we went back to Rome for our late 2 days in Rome.
We met the Pope!
Loved this causal restaurant. People there were mostly locals.
